A garden is a building
that happens to grow

Levels, drainage and structure decide whether a garden works. Planting decides whether you love it. Most projects fail because somebody skipped the first three and started with the last one.

We survey before we draw, draw before we price, and price before anyone lifts a spade. It is slower at the start and considerably faster afterwards — and it is the reason our programmes hold.

Design-led

Every build starts from a measured drawing, so the price is against something real.

One team throughout

The people who drew it are the people who set it out. No handovers to lose things in.

Quality materials

Named suppliers and specifications on the quote — you can look up everything we propose.

Project managed

A fixed programme, a weekly written note and one person who answers the phone.

02 Garden visualiser

Imagine your garden,
before we build it

Choose a style, add the elements you want and watch the plan redraw itself. It takes about a minute and gives you a costed concept at the end.

Try it

The drawing above is live. Switch the lighting to see the scheme after dark, or tilt it into a model view — the same controls the full visualiser gives you, alongside style, elements and an indicative cost.

03 Before / after

The same garden, twice

Drag the handle. This is the survey drawing of a real project layout, before and after — the same site, the same boundaries, everything else changed.

06 Our process

Nine steps, in order

Every project runs the same sequence. The order matters more than the list — most of what goes wrong in gardens is a step taken too early.

  1. 01 90 minutes, on site

    Consultation

We walk the garden with you and talk about how you want to use it. No drawings yet, no pressure, and no charge.

  2. 02 Half a day

    Site survey

Measured survey of boundaries, levels, drainage, services, soil and the trees worth keeping.

  3. 03 3–4 weeks

    Garden design

Two concept directions drawn to scale, with materials, planting character and indicative costs.

  4. 04 1 week

    Visualisation

The chosen direction rendered so you can see the garden from the places you will actually stand.

  5. 05 1 week

    Quote

A fixed, itemised price against the drawings. What you sign is what you pay.

  6. 06 4–10 weeks

    Construction

Groundworks, drainage, hard landscaping and structures, with weekly photographs.

  7. 07 1–2 weeks

    Planting

Soil prepared, plants set out and adjusted on the ground, then planted and mulched.

  8. 08 2 days

    Lighting

Fittings installed and then aimed after dark, with the scenes set alongside you.

  9. 09 One evening

    Final reveal

We hand over the garden with a care guide, a plant schedule and the drawings.

07 Clients

What they said afterwards

“We had two other quotes that were a page long. Ardan gave us drawings, a materials list and a programme, and then they held to it. The garden was finished four days early and the lighting is the thing our friends actually comment on.”

Aoife & Dara Ó Ríordáin

Kinsale, Co. Cork

Full landscaping · 340 m²

“Our old patio held water every winter. They surveyed the falls, found the real problem was a blocked run at the boundary, and fixed that first. It has not puddled once since.”

Michelle Barry

Douglas, Cork

Patio & planting · 90 m²

“We used the design service and then built it ourselves over two summers. The drawings were detailed enough that our own builder never had to ring them once. That is unusual and it saved us thousands.”

Seán Crowley

Bandon, Co. Cork

Garden design only

“Three kids and a dog, and we wanted something that would still look like a garden. They put the play area where we could see it from the kitchen and used surfaces that survive a scooter. Two years on it still looks new.”

Niamh Fitzgerald

Clonakilty, Co. Cork

Family garden · 260 m²

“Everything we had planted ourselves died of salt burn. They rebuilt the shelter planting first and left the ornamental for the following year. It was the right call and nobody else suggested it.”

Tom & Fiona Walsh

Rosscarbery, West Cork

Coastal garden · 420 m²

“They moved the whole kitchen three metres from where we had imagined it, because of where the wind comes from. Annoying at the time. Completely right — we have used it all summer without smoking ourselves out.”
